Devon and Exeter senior five

Kentisbeare 1

Oke Argyle seconds 3

OKEHAMPTON finally got their league season underway on Saturday with a welcome win at Kentisbeare.

In a totally one sided encounter, Okehampton must be asking them- selves how they ended up with a score line that didn't reflect the game.

Goalkeeper Geering had one of the quietest games he will ever take part in — the only time he was called on to make a save was for a penalty decision against Ben Harris for handball from which Kentisbeare scored.

At the other end the Kentisbeare keeper pulled off a string of great saves, that along with missed chances and frustration was the reason Okehampton could only finish the game with a poor showing of three goals.

Goals came from Ricky Wooldridge, Daniel Gibbs and a goal line own goal after great work by Darren Prouse.

It was a shame after the second team had had a good pre season warm up of games including three premier teams, one senior one team and one senior two team followed by a senior cup draw last week against a senior side Cullompton that they found it hard to convert possession and good football into goals.

l Next week the seconds find themelves at home for the visit of Axmouth Town with a 3pm kick off.
