Chudleigh 5

TAVISTOCK hockey team were looking to pick themselves back up after the defeat of the previous week.

Chudleigh played a strong team and this showed as they scored within the first ten minutes.

Goalkeeper Osborne kept the home side in the game and made same impressive saves. The Tavistock defence soaked up plenty of pressure but Chudleigh scored two more.

At half-time, captain Glanville made some changes to the formation of the team. Tavistock started to play better hockey, with Holden and Cooley holding the midfield which gave more options to attack.

Chudleigh played well and although Tavistock had a better second half the away side scored a further two goals.

A consolation goal was scored by Tavistock, which started from a good move by Cowen Jnr, Honey Jnr and Cooley pushing the decisive pass to Mackintosh to score.

With the start of the league this week Tavistock will need to improve their overall game and a good win will boost the team's confidence.

Tavistock are away to Torbay with a 12.45pm start.
