TAVISTOCK Seconds returned to winning ways with this easy win over Ipplepen, putting them just 2 points off a promotion spot.
The players put in a lot of hard work to make the pitch playable after two heavy rainstorms, eventually starting at 3.15pm.
The innings started with the loss of Steve John quickly. Phil Stephens and John McGahey then sailed along with a superb stand of 135, McGahey out for 61.
Stephens carried on towards his ton until holing out for 84 including 14 fours.
Ipplepen had to chase 196 to win off 35 overs, made even worse by the evergreen 60-year-old veteran Stuart Munday taking two wickets in his first four overs.
Dave Jeffery replaced Milligan at the town end where he claimed three wickets and with the help of three superb run outs Tavistock gained an easy win.
Tavistock 19 points won by 93 runs, Tavistock 195-5, Ipplepen 102 all out.
