Tavistock seconds v Braunton seconds

RAIN reduced this match to 33 overs per side but this did not stop a rampant Tavistock side from gaining a 20 point win. On a drying pitch Braunton were put in by Tavistock and were soon struggling at 11-3.

Wickets fell regularly with veteran bowler Jeffrey taking 3-14 and Pethick, Downham and Willets all took two apiece. Only skipper Cresswell was able to make any runs being sixth out, caught off Willets for 35 when the score was on 54. The final score of 72 never seemed enough.

When Tavistock batted Nick Goodchild continued his recent run of form finishing on 49 not out. The only wicket to fall in the Tavistock innings was that of Webb. The total was reached after 18 overs giving Tavistock a nine wicket win and putting them firmly back in the promotion race.
