Tavistock Ladies 2nds 3 Chudleigh 2 TAVISTOCK Ladies 2nd hockey team won the toss and took first push back in this friendly against Chudleigh. Early pressure from Chudleigh forwards resulted in them taking the lead in the fourth minute. Tavistock responded well, and drew level with a goal from Julia Firth after a great ball into the D. Although both teams battled hard for a second goal, with numerous shots on target, and several great saves from Alayna the first half concluded 1-1. Tavistock started the second half much stronger and put themselves back in front within minutes of play resuming. Kate Eadie scored after a brilliant build up between the Tavistock midfield and forwards. The game remained even with good defensive play from Kim Stenhouse, Bridget Passmore, Amy Petts and Frankie Murphy, before Chudleigh finally broke through with an equaliser in the 50th minute. Their celebrations were short lived due to an excellent Tavistock attack two minutes later, involving Paige McGeachie, Julia, Kate, Sarah Guy and Gem Murphy allowing Julia through to score her second, and give Tavistock back the lead. Despite being a player down towards the end, Tavistock held on for their second victory of the season
