TWO West Devon personal trainers held their second annual fitness challenge recently, putting participants through their paces and raising hundreds of pounds for a worthwhile cause.
Tavistock-based Nick Lane, from NLFitness and Lifton-based Matt Luxton from BLAST Fitness, held their Tamar Charity Fitness Challenge, which saw a number of their clients mixed into teams and having to undertake a range of challenging tasks. They included rowing, tyre flipping, sled dragging and running in a series of challenges designed to push their limits and put their training to the test.
Contestants completed the tasks at three different locations, the NLFitness base in Tavistock, the BLAST Fitness sand arena and Tavistock College.
At the end of the day, the contestants were tired but managed to raise more than £300 for Children’s Hospice South West.
Nick Lane said: ‘The event was gratefully sponsored by Jacqui Stokes Accountancy and Tavistock Community Sports Centre.
‘A big thanks has to go to Mike Palmer for the fantastic food spread which kept contestants fuelled throughout the day and judge James Daniel for officiating. With plans already in place, next year’s event is set to be bigger and even more hotly contested!’
