IT was mixed fortunes for Tavistock under 10s in a double naval engagement at The Rectory on Sunday morning.
The first battle against the young tourists from Portsmouth saw some fine play from both forwards and backs.
Elliot Hoyte scored the first points with a long twisting run from inside his own half.
Portsmouth put on the pressure for the rest of the period but some excellent defending from Tavy and the tackling of Jack Haigh kept them out.
The second half saw the power of Joe Hair?s forwards continued to dominate with prop George Harold involved in most plays and front row man Elliott Northmore scoring the second try.
The third came from a line out won by Joshua Leeson and a drive though to the line by Barnaby Frost.
