TWO sculptors who for six weeks shared a studio on Dartmoor have an exhibition of their work at Okehampton Museum of Dartmoor Life. Caroline Saunders and Andrew Gilmour-Gray are both graduates of the Art College in Exeter; Caroline is an established artist with an international track-record in environmental sculpture, and Andrew is at the start of his career, having graduated in 2005. They shared a studio on Dartmoor last year and worked closely together, assisting stone carver, Matt Chivers in an initiative put together by Devon Artsculture, the economic regeneration project for the creative industries. Despite being at different stages in their careers they are both ambitious to learn new techniques and on display are sculptures that show their curiosity and playfulness with materials. On display are a stone carving, drawings and photographs. Caroline's sculptures are rooted to the land with an inventive openness towards materials. Caroline lives in Exeter. On display are sculptures in stone, aluminium resin and iron. The exhibition runs from June 2 to June 30.
