A GROUP of West Devon scouts raised more than £140 to help homeless people in the borough after staging their own 'sleep out' in cardboard boxes.  The 1st Buckland Scout Group completed the sponsored sleep out at Yelverton in November last year, and presented the money raised to Alan Marshall, the West Devon case worker for charity Encompass South West, last Wednesday. The charity helps homeless people on behalf of West Devon Borough Council as part of the South Devon Rough Sleeper Partnership. Alan said: 'I am very impressed with the efforts of the scouts not just to raise money but also to raise awareness about the issue. 'We are very grateful for this kind of support and the money will be put to good use helping with our work in West Devon.'
