WEST Devon scouts held their annual fun swim at Meadowlands in Tavistock recently.
Teams from Bere Alston, Horrabridge, Princetown, Tavistock and Whitchurch all took part, with the 1st Tavistock team of Nicholas Champion, Ben Cox, Louis Diaz, Louis Dykes, and Christopher Higgs emerging as the eventual winners.
In second place was the Horrabridge pack, and Whitchurch came third.
And three teams from Horrabridge cubs took part in a Harry Potter-style Hogwarts Activity day joined by packs from throughout the county recently.
The youngsters enjoyed a day of sunshine and activities including potion making, scavenge hunts, a forest hunt for charms, broomstick hockey and quidditch.
Spiders, bats and creepy crawlies were created by the enterprising packs and a great day was had by all.
The winners at the district cub sports day, held at Whitchurch School, were as follows:
Flat sprint: 8years, Mark Friend, 1st Tavistock Kestrels; 9 years, Reece Williams, Whitchurch; 10 years, Alex Jeans, Bere Alston and Harrison Short, 1st Tavistock Ospreys.
Egg and Spoon: 8 years, Brendan Hearn, Lifton; 9 years, Charlotte Cooper, Horrabridge; 10 years, Tom Rodgers, 1st Tavistock Ospreys.
Obstacle course: 8 years, Joshua Hughes, Bere Alston; 9 years, Reece Williams, Whitchurch; 10 years, Curtis Alomair, Whitchurch.
Back and forward: 8 years, Louis Dykes and Tom Tosdevin, 1st Tavistock Kestrels; 9 years, Matthew Worth and Alex Sykes, Horrabridge; 10 years, Bethany Gerrish and Alex Jeans, Bere Alston.
Tug of War: 1 1st Tavistock Ospreys; 2 Whitchurch; 3 1st Tavistock Kestrels.
Chariot race: 1 Horrabridge; 2 Bere Alston; 3 Lifton.
Sprint relay: 1 1st Tavistock Ospreys; 2 Whitchurch; 3 Bere Alston.
Speed ball: 1 1st Tavistock Ospreys; 2 Whitchurch; 3 Lifton.
