THE 1st Okehampton Scout Group is appealing for more adult helpers to help run the group.

The leadership team is putting out an appeal for adult helpers to lend their time to help run the beavers, cubs and scouts section.

There is no time commitment, and helpers can spend as little or as much time as they can spare to help out.

The appeal has been put out after the scout group held its latest committee meeting on July 25 to discuss the group's finances and plan the scouting activities ahead for beavers, cubs and scouts.

As well as continued fundraising, subscriptions for all sections will be increased for 2014 to help battle the rising costs of insurance, utilities and building maintenance.

One of the fundraising plans is the scout's Christmas fayre in the Charter Hall on December 14.

The team is looking for a Father Christmas outfit for this event.
