Feniton 0

Chagford 6

CHAGFORD moved up to third spot with this emphatic victory against a side that, after early resistance, had little to offer.

Playing down the slope in the first half, Chagford felt they would have to build a reasonable lead before their hosts were to gain the advantage.

Matt Mortimer opened the scoring, notching his first for the club early on and in fine style.

From there, the visitors seemed to lose their way somewhat and contributed to Feniton getting themselves back in the game. It took a second goal, from Jon de Cruz just before the break, to allow his side to breathe a little easier as they went into the second half.

Chagford raised their game after half-time and went on to take Feniton to pieces.

A second hat-trick in consecutive games form Steve Scott and a single from Andrew Davis put the game well beyond the East Devon club's reach.

Notable performances were put in by Kinsey and, the absence of Gavillet and Wright, from Woof and de Cruz. Deputy 'keeper Antony Geering was largely untroubled, dealing comfortably with anything that happened his way.

All in all, another good performance from the squad.

This weekend's trip to Cullompton Rangers will provide a sterner test, so Chagford cannot afford to rest on their laurels. Kick-off at 2.15pm.
