Steve Scott netted once again and Robbie Miller continued where he left off last week, both making the most of the chances set up by Wes Gavillet from midfield.

Chagford Reserves just failed to pull off a result against a team strongly fancied for promotion.

The hosts started well and were ahead in the fourth minute. Jon Scarry was sent down the left flank and his cross was well despatched by Chris Woof to open the scoring.

The game swept from end to end with both 'keepers kept busy but opposing forwards being guilty of not putting away the chances that fell to them.

Chagford could have extended their lead when Woof was upended by goalkeeper Pepperell, in Ipplepen's area. The keeper made amends for his abberation by superbly pushing away Scarry's well hit spot kick. From the resultant corner. Pepperell then tipped over Hambly's goal-bound header.

At the other end Swift, in Chagford's goal, dealt well with anything sent his way. Chances came and went but in the 31st minute a through ball found Doyle who slid the equaliser home.

At times Chagford's defence looked shaky but Antony Geering made some important tackles and clearances.

The second half proved just as frenetic and the goals kept coming. Woof doubled his tally with a cracking drive, while an own goal added to the home tally. Ipplepen came back with goals from Dan Rogers, Jimmy Lunt and an own goal to eek out the win.
