TWO Tavistock men with cerebral palsy will be starting their challenge tomorrow (Friday) to swim a mile for charity.

It will take Scott Stack and Jeremy Briers four sessions over a two-week period to complete their aim for the Sharron Davies Swim-a-Mile Challenge.

Both men, who are in wheelchairs, will be wearing buoyancy aids and assisted by carers from Cornerways Residential Home, where they both live.

Scott, 25, and Jeremy, 39, are regular faces at Meadowlands and enjoy the freedom out of their wheelchairs that swimming provides. During a weekly visit to the pool they spotted a leaflet on the swim-a-mile challenge and immediately enrolled.

The men lead busy lives but welcomed the opportunity to do something for the community and had been looking to be involved in a charity event like this.

Anyone who would like to sponsor Scott or Jeremy in their challenge of a lifetime can contact Meadowlands Pool or Cornerways Residential Home on 01822 618724.
