Tavistock U15 28 Wadebridge 0 DESPITE cloying mud, Tavistock played flowing open rugby with tries from Mark Webber (2), Tom Hancock and Jack Hodges, penalty kicks by Euan McCall. Winning quick ball from rucks was a credit to Tavistock?s co-ordination in the forwards and was a spring board for much invention by the backs. Euan McCall timed his entry from fullback into the three quarter line with precision, helping to use the full width of the pitch. Man of the match Aaron Churchill, playing for the first time in months following a broken arm last autumn, was purposeful in attack, looking for and finding the spaces in the Wadebridge defences, and intelligently offloading to running support players. Mark Webber showed his handling skills, plus a keen sense of timing to poach an interception mid way through the first half to pick up the first try for the home side. Martin, playing only the second time for the club, was a strong attacking force and added to the mobility of the pack. The team swept to victory even without captain Marc Kerswill and hooker Nathan Peck who were both representing the county. Particularly encouraging was the team?s ability to field a full fifteen this week without the need to borrow players or play short.
