Redruth RFC Colts 38 Tavistock RFC Colts 5 ALTHOUGH conceding two tries in the first half, Tavistock created pressure in their opponents? 22-metre area but could not turn it into points. The second half belonged to Tavistock although Redruth ran in four breakaway tries. As the half progressed so did Tavistock?s self-belief and confidence. Continuous forward pressure in the tight scrums and forward drives resulted in a try by second row Alex Chaplet. With a little luck, three more tries could have been scored. Skipper Kerswill led from the front and thoroughly earned his man of the match award. Flanker Friend and scrum half Danny Thompson showed a phenomenal work rate throughout with the rest of the pack gelling as the game progressed. Centre Jack Hodges led the tackle count in the first half and Aaron Churchill at inside centre took crash ball in the second half to set up good second phase possession. Second row Toby Huntington-Whitely switched to wing in the second half and took several poor passes to set up the forward pressure which resulted in scoring opportunities. Despite losing scrum half Ewan Smith and centre Mark Webber through injury, Tavistock adapted well and finished the game with a scoreline which did not reflect their efforts.
