Tiverton U16s 0 Tavistock U16s 110 TAVISTOCK U16s? first away game of the season saw their first visit to Tiverton result in a resounding win with the final score going into three figures ? and no points conceded! The team as usual showed fine individual play in both attack and defense, but this match saw them gel as a team with the taste of success seeming to bring out the best in them collectively. Tavistock got off to a cracking start with tries scored within the first few minutes. Despite some good line outs and scrums by Tiverton, by the end of the first half Tavistock had crossed the line ten times with scorers including Jack Hodges; Euan McCall; Jake Chinn; Mark Smith; Mark Webber; Tom Hancock and Ewan Smith. Many of these tries were converted by Euan McCall and Andrew Smerdon. By the half time whistle Tavistock had racked up a convincing 58 points! The second half saw Tiverton fight back with more discipline and spend more time in the Tavistock half. However it did not take long for the Tavistock team to regain its momentum. With the help of Nathan Peck, Chris Dawe, Marc Kerswill; John Martin and Callum Masters, they soon put even more points on the board with Josh O?Neil and Aaron Churchill adding their names to the score sheet. The last quarter of the game saw separate stoppages for two brave Tavistock players needing medical attention, but the team even then carried on one man down to score a further three tries to bring the final score to 110 to nil. This week?s game is at home against Kingsbridge.
