Bere gave a lack lustre first half performance against a below strength Saints? side. Only some brilliant keeping by Ian Crabb saved Bere who, with a gale force wind at their backs, failed to test Saints? keeper. Bere improved in the second half and pressed forward in waves as Saints? rear-guard action frustrated Bere with Saints? keeper in brilliant form. Against the run of play a long ball out of defence caught Bere short with a shot which Ian Crabb was unlucky not to stop. Youngster Mark Claridge came on as a sub. His running for Bere proved invaluable as Bere went into overdrive as shots and crosses were cleared. With ten minutes to go Bere thought they had equalised and were amazed at the goal being disallowed. In the 89th minute Ross Hann turned his marker, beat a defender to hit a scorcher. Mark Wheeler and Ian Crabb shone for Bere.
