A TEXT-based service to provide information, advice and support to disabled people and their families in West Devon has been launched. Scope, the national disability organisation, has set up the service so people can send a text message, free-of-charge, to Scope with an enquiry on cerebral palsy and a range of other disability-related issues. The new service is the latest addition to Scope Response. It is the first point of contact for people who would like information on disability issues and Scope?s services. Once a text message has been received, members of the response team will either respond by text message or request a phone number or email to contact the user if they feel a more detailed reply is needed. Steve Cairns, head of Scope Response, said: ?This text-based service is a great way for us to reach out to people, wherever they are.?
