THREE scientists from the Institute of Grassland and Environmental Research at North Wyke near Okehampton were presented with certificates of recognition. Dr Phil Murray, Andrew Bishop and Patricia Butler (pictured above) received their awards last week for their work as Science and Engineering Ambassadors (SEAs) by Paul Hartley, the manager of SETPOINT Devon and Cornwall. For many years now IGER have hosted a science fair for primary schools with more than 500 pupils attending each year. Supported by the British Biological Research Council they have also worked with SETPOINT running a hands on science stand ?Science With Intent? at the Devon County Show. The scientists at IGER are committed to enthusing young people about science to encourage them to study science qualifications and follow science related careers. Picture: James Bird
