SEVEN local primary schools have been recognised for their commitment and good practice in school sport, competition and physical education for all.
Whitchurch, St Andrews, Tavistock, Gulworthy and Lamerton achieved gold and St Peters, Mary Tavy and Brentor silver in the Schools Games Mark Accreditation.
Stuart Lord, the areas school sports co-ordinator saId: ‘This is a great testimony to the work going on in all schools — well done.’
The criteria to achieve this involves: commitment to curriculum PE and also active playtimes; developing young sports leaders, engaging in competitions and festivals — all schools have excelled here with A, B and C teams at events and engaging as many children as possible in diverse and fun festivals for all.
