CALLINGTON Community College recently hosted the Callington Youth Music Festival with entries from a number of schools as well as the hosts including Kelly Prep, Kelly College, St Dominic Primary and Bodmin College.

There were some wonderful performances from everyone, including St Dominic School playing 'Puff the Magic Dragon' on handbells and the Callington Choir repeating their award winning performance from the Plymouth Music Festival the week before.

The adjudicators were Fiona McLean-Buechel, director of the South West Camerata, and Peter Stedman, a former director of music at Callington Community College. Their input to the two days was invaluable to all the students who took part.

The performing students were praised so too were the volunteers who helped the adjudicators and directed the external students.
