THE Tavistock Church Schools Federation of St Rumon's and St Peter's will be opening their doors again for the annual 'Informal Open Day' next week.

This year the staff will show visitors their new purpose built foundation stage unit at St Rumon's. The new unit provides a much larger space which includes an ICT area, kitchen facilities, toilets and a mezzanine floor for quiet reading as well as a purpose built covered outdoor play/exploration area.

At St Peter's, visitors will be able to see plans for remodelling and improvements to the St Peter's building.

There will be opportunities during the day to walk around the schools, accompanied by a member of staff or governor.

The open day will take place on Thursday November 12.

A school spokesman said: 'You will be able to watch lessons, meet and chat to senior staff and school governors. Staff will also be available to help you complete 'The First Steps' application form online or by paper and to answer any queries or concerns about the whole admission process.

'We hope you will find our schools a happy, lively environment within which each individual child feels secure and confident to achieve their highest standards of work and behaviour.'
