ON Wednesday, March 12 I felt very privileged to attend a concert at Exeter Cathedral to listen to the Chivenor and Lympstone Military Wives choir.
There were several choirs joining them including Okehampton's Wren choir, Roots A Cappella and Year 3 from Okehampton Primary School along with other schools from around the county.
Of course the music was wonderful and the singing inspiring — but above all, what impressed me was that these little ones from our school sat as good as gold throughout a very long evening, and eventually got to sing at nearly 10pm.
They had been attending singing workåshops during the day and learning new songs to sing in the finale.
Some were so tired they were falling asleep where they sat. But at the signal, nearly an hour later than scheduled, up they went onto the stage and sang their hearts out.
They were a credit to the town and Mrs Fox and her staff should be rightly proud of them.
