FOUR pupils from Mount House School have been awarded scholarship to Blundell's School in Tiverton.

Oscar Mustard from Lydford has been awarded an all-rounder exhibition. During his time at Mount House, Oscar has taken a particular interest in drama, and took the part of Montag in this year's production 'Book Ends'.

He has won the spoken English competition at the school three times and the best South West Festival U18-year-old actor 'LAMDA'.

James Perring, who lives at Lifton, has won a major scholarship. He has regularly played in Mount House rugby, hockey and cricket teams.

He has been awarded rugby colours, and captained the second hockey VII this year. James is a deputy head chorister in the chapel choir and is learning to play drums.

Tom Jackman who lives in Tavistock will be joining Blundell's with a major all-rounder scholarship.

Tom earned his colours for rugby, and has represented the Devon Prep Schools XV and the South West Barbarians. He has been a member of the second XI and U12 cricket teams. He won a bronze in the UK's Maths Challenge, and has taken part in school drama productions.

Head girl Gemma Robbins from Lamerton has been awarded an all-rounder scholarship. Gemma played for the U13 B hockey team this term and is in the A team at netball.

She reached the finals for the javelin and shot-putt in the National Prep Schools athletics championships last year. She plays the flute and the piano and is also a member of the senior ensemble and the school orchestra.
