MAKE a beeline for Chagford this Saturday (May 3) where there is plenty of fun to be had at the Tinners' Fair. The unforgettable fun day out for all the family runs from 11am until 4pm and includes a host of activities. There will be morris dancing, a mummers' play, organ recitals, choir performances, exhibitions, a vast array of stalls and a a wealth of refreshments available. Chagford will be awash with 60 colourful banners decorated with the Tinners' Rabbits — this is the first year the banners will be used. They have been designed by retired art teacher Sylvia Croxen and sewn by a team of Chagford seamstresses. Dr Colin Barnes, chairman of the organising committee, said: 'Tell your friends and family this is the weekend to come to Chagford. 'It promises to be a day you won't forget in a hurry. There will be so much to see and do with plenty for the children too.' Proceeds from the fair will go to both community organisations and charities and to the parish church, in particular, to the organ fund — the organ is in urgent need of expensive repairs. Don't forget — the fair is this Saturday, May 3, not May 16 as was incorrectly reported last week.
