TWENTY twinning organisations across West Devon and Plymouth have been invited to share their experiences at an event hosted by Tavistock twinning charity the Santa Rosa Fund on February 12.

International Twinnings Association officer for Bristol, Alix Hughes, who is responsible for co-ordinating the city?s seven international links, will be the guest speaker.

Supporters of the Santa Rosa Fund will also be invited to the evening which starts at 7.30pm in Kingdon House, Tavistock.

They will learn of the disbursement of funds raised by the charity at the end of 2003.

Monies amounting to £1,900 will be taken out to Nicaragua in March ? this will go directly to the educational institutions and initiatives which are supported by the fund.

A total of £800 will be donated to the Santa Rosa School in Managua for educational materials, £200 for the school?s hardship fund, £400 for a pre-school teacher?s annual salary in the community of Villa Espana, £200 for a street children?s organisation and £200 for other initiatives.

The charity expects the evening to be a rich, culturally diverse and entertaining evening and looks forward to seeing as many people as possible.
