ENTRIES have opened for children’s charity CHICKS’ annual Santa Fun Run, which this year will take place in Tavistock for the first time ever.
The 1.5-mile run through Tavistock will see hundreds of adults, children and even some four-legged friends taking part dressed as Santa Claus. The festive fun run is suitable for the entire family and offers a brilliant way to get into the Christmas spirit. It’s not a race — so you can walk, jog, skip or sprint your way around the route, which starts at Tavistock Town Hall and passes along the canal.
Taking place on Saturday, December 5 at 3.30pm, entries are open now via the CHICKS website. Tickets include a free Santa suit and a medal and all the money raised will go to CHICKS.
CHICKS provides free respite breaks for disadvantaged children from all over the UK, including many from Devon. The children helped by the charity come from a variety of different backgrounds. For example, some may be living in poverty or are young carers for sick or disabled relatives. The one thing they all have in common is the need for a break away from home.
