TAVISTOCK College student, Sam Twine, won the U18s sculling race at Bideford Head Race on Saturday.
The strong North West wind made for exciteable water, but Sam came through the field to make the best time in his catergory.
Sam was spotted nine months ago and began rowing on the world class START talent scheme with monthly camps in Nottingham. During the week he trains at Plymouth Amateur Rowing Club (PARC) and Tavistock Community Sports Centre, and when possible, with Tamar and Tavy Gig Club.
