YELVERTON Golf Club ladies? section player Laura Eastwood won the South West Division Close Championship at Came Down Golf Club in Dorset.
Laura won the Huleatt Salver, which is now proudly on display in Yelverton Golf clubhouse.
On July 4 Gilly Jarvis won the Dormer Cup for the best scratch score with a round of 76 (standard scratch = 72) in the Thurlestone Silver Open competition.
The Yelverton team in the Devon League fought hard in a home match against Dainton Park on July 11 but lost by five points to ten.
The team in the Shelagh Creasy bowl competition played their final match of the season at home against Honiton on July 1 and won by four matches to two.
During the season they have won three matches, lost four and drawn one, becoming more successful as the summer progressed.
Yelverton ladies? veterans played a friendly match at Staddon Heights Golf Club on July 4 and lost by two matches to three.
The July medal and Warren Crocus qualifying competition were played on the third of the month. Shirley Trevena won the silver division with a net 71; Belinda McSherry was runner-up with a net 73 and third was Marie Deeny also with a net 73.
Claire Rushbrooke won the bronze division with a net 77; runner-up was Pat Taylor also with a net 77 and third was Kay Creaven with a net 78.
Shirley Trevena and Pat Taylor qualified to play in the Warren Crocus competition that will be held at Warren Golf Club on September 30.
On July 10 the ladies played a ?fun? Texas Scramble in teams of three players. The winning team was Jean Murray, Aine Binchy and Ray Bovington with a net score of 68·5.
Alison Measelle and Karen Friendship have been selected to play in the Devon County Ladies? Golf Association?s second team at Yeovil Golf Club between September 8 and 10.
