MORE than 550 young people will be involved in a mass celebration of sport at the Caradon Youth games competition at Callington Community College on Wednesday (March 31). All secondary schools in Caradon district will be involved in the competition. This is the sixth year that the games have run and following last year's success, the ethos for the games will once again be to target the semi sporty students, who may be interested in a range of non traditional sports.

Competitions include street surfing, extreme golf, indoor rowing, trampolining and urban dance. There will also be rounders, tennis volleyball, gymnastics and table tennis.

Rob Francis, competition manager for the Callington School Sport Partnership said: 'With the new and exciting sports there is something for everyone. We have listened to what the pupils want and tailored the sports towards this. This is the sixth year we have run the event and it goes from strength to strength.'
