WESTDEN?S successful Wheels to Work Project Getting There and the Youthwize Wheelz bus will be holding a roadshow in Lifton this evening (Thursday) to help promote road safety. The initiative follows several complaints from local people in the area about people riding motorbikes inappropriately. Getting There has been running successfully for five years and has helped more than 200 young people get to work through the provision of scooters. Road safety has always been the top priority of the project, which takes any complaints very seriously. Project manager Max Jowett said: ?Due to our success our bikes are very high profile and the public knows them. ?Unfortunately, this can also lead to people assuming that any bikes out there belong to us. We would urge anyone to come forward if they have an issue but we really need the registration number in order to deal with it fairly.? The purpose of the roadshow is to reinforce road safety issues with young people, publicise the services provided, and address any concerns from the public. Youthwize staff will also be present to deal with any other concerns young people may have. The roadshow will take place in Lifton today from 7pm to 10pm.
