CONCERNS over potential danger to motorists and other users of the 'Rural Gateway' on the Whitchurch to Horrabridge road were expressed this week.

A Times reader contacted the newspaper to warn road users that heavy rain had caused the mud and grass from the verges on the narrow road to spill onto the carriageway and even caused a granite post to slide.

A Devon County Council spokesman said: 'We have completed a check of the site.

'The verges and granite posts are solid and have not moved onto the highway.

'However, the grass around the posts will be cut back.'
