FORTY four staff members from Tesco at Callington entered this month's Race For Life in Plymouth and raised more than £1,500 for Cancer Research.
The female volunteers, dressed in pink, were driven to the 5km fun run in Central Park in a coach loaned by Jackett's Coaches and were encouraged on their way by Karen Gold, Callington portreeve, and Dennis Cook, the town crier.
Saffron Ray, Tesco Callington's community manager, said: 'Cancer Research is one of those causes that means a lot to so many people — I ran for my Auntie Eleanor who died of leukaemia.
'This is very much an event the Callington community has taken to their hearts, and we are particularly grateful to Mr Jackett for taking us there and back, not to mention Dennis Cook and Karen Gold for their support and the many volunteers and others for their help.'
