motorcyclist Rob Jones of Yelverton took part in the Bideford Half Marathon in motorcycling gear to raise funds and publicise the work of Devon Freewheelers.

The Freewheelers provide motorcycle courier services free-of-charge to NHS facilities out of normal working hours.

The volunteer bikers transport live blood, samples, drugs, equipment, breast-milk and donor organs between NHS facilities at no charge to the NHS and on occasion also deliver vital drugs to patients.

Devon Freewheelers is a self-financing voluntary organisation.
