OKEHAMPTON Carnival Committee is looking for boys and girls of primary school age to enter a competition to become this year's carnival prince and princess.
Young ladies over the age of 14 are also be sought for the 2002 carnival queen.
The prince and princess contestants should enter as pairs and their photos will be shown in the Times and be voted for by our readers.
The queen will be chosen at a disco to be held on August 31 with everyone attending this event getting a voting slip.
Floats will be provided and decorated by the carnival committee with the help of the winners' families and they will have the honour of leading the carnival procession on October 19 and also representing Okehampton at other local carnivals. Contact Margaret Sage on 54732 for more details.
