CHRISTMAS street collections around local West Devon villages and fundraising efforts by the Rotary Club raised a record amount in 2013 — almost £2,000.

Rotary Club members have expressed a huge 'thank you' to everyone who supported the club's recent fund raising efforts, which included Father Christmas visiting villages around the Yelverton district.

The club's emergency collection in aid of the Philippines disaster at Yelverton shopping forecourt in October raised £500; and a 'race night' held in the village hall in September raised more than £900.

These sums amongst the club's many other charitable fund raising activities have provided the opportunity for the club to purchase three ShelterBoxes this past year, and to participate in making local charitable donations including running the Yelverton Memory Café.
