AFTER the success of last year's summer fete in Yelverton, revived after a six-year break by the village Rotary Club, organisers are hoping for another crowd-pulling event this year.
Around £1,300 was raised at the fete last year, which was distributed to local groups, association and charitable causes.
This year the fete will be held on Saturday August 4, beginning at 11.30 am in the Memorial Ground in Meavy Lane.
Attractions will run throughout the afternoon, and some 35 stalls and displays are planned to attract the crowds.
Main arena attractions include a line-dancing display, a civil war re-enactment by Plymouth Garrison, the Plymouth Pipe Band will play and there will be a laser clay pigeon shooting event. The afternoon will culminate in a grand draw.
Sideshows vary from a woodturning display, Dartmoor Rescue and an RNLI exhibition to craft stalls, an upholstery demonstration, a kit car display and plant and flower stalls.
Lunch and cream teas will be on offer in the main hall, and there will be a beer tent to quench the thirsts of the most enthusiastic fete visitor.
Access to the fete will be by the field bottom entrance, off Meavy Lane, where car parking will be available.
