OKEHAMPTON Rotary Club has presented a cheque for £500 to Lewdown Cricket Club.

The money will go towards a state of the art outdoor training facility, for which the club has already received £20,000 from the England and Wales Cricket Board.

Lewdown Cricket Club is recognised as the premier club for junior cricket in the area with the best facilities and coaching.

The club has already built a club room with other funding.

President of Okehampton Rotary Club Mike Macklin said: 'We are pleased to assist sporting clubs in our area. We have two charity golf days per year which raise money specifically for youth and sport development locally.'
