Jamie Mallett opened the scoring and Ross Voaden scored two, making it 3-0 at half time. Okehampton dominated the second half with good play. Okehampton Argyle U10s 5 Braunton Jones 2 OKEHAMPTON played Braunton Jones in the first round of the U10s cup. The first goal came from a Jamie Mallets corner headed in by Ben Bickle. Jamie made it two with a long range shot that lobbed the keeper. In the second half Jamie scored again with a good header. Braunton Jones pulled one back although great passing from kick off, allowed Ben for Okehampton to respond immediately with another goal, making it 4-1. Braunton Jones piled on the pressure, securing a second goal. A free kick for Braunton Jones could have given them another had it not been for a brilliant save from Aaron Dearing. This led to a quick breakaway for Okehampton allowing Ross to run forward and score the fifth. This was a really excellent display with Okehampton playing their best football of the season so far. Blues and Appledore 0 Okehampton U11s 1 OKEHAMPTON continued their unbeaten start to the season but never really got going on a pitch much larger than they are used to. Crunching tackles came from both sides in an evenly balanced match with little goalmouth action. Chances from Eddie, Toby and Kyler were denied them. The advantage went to Okehampton through a Blues own goal. A disallowed goal from Ruben in the closing minutes left Okehampton with a 1-0 victory. Man of the match: Sam Bolton and Kyler Burns.
