ROSS Cooper from Yelverton has been awarded one of the highest accolades in Beaver scouting. Assistant District Commissioner Fran Yeo presented Ross, seven, with the Chief Scout Bronze Award. Ross had to complete two scouting challenge badges ? one where he learned about the outdoors, encompassing the environment, country code, plants, trees, flowers and recycling, and the other a friendship challenge where he learned about people from another country, met an interesting person within the community and showed how to care for others. With his third task a ?personal challenge? Ross had to develop a new skill and show his improvement over a six week period ? he chose golf. Ross has gained many activity badges since joining the beavers at the age of five.
