OKEHAMPTON residents are being invited to don their roller-skates and dust down those 80s outfits to raise money for a new childrens' hospice.
Specsavers in the town is fundraising for the Precious Lives appeal by holding a roller-disco at the White Hart Hotel in Launceston on Saturday, 4 April.
Event organiser and Specsavers staff member Hayley Dobson said: 'Hopefully loads of people will come as we want to raise as much money as possible for the Precious Lives appeal, it's such a worthy cause.'
There will be an afternoon session from 1.30pm to 6pm for families and an evening session for over the 18's from 7.30 until late. Tickets are £8 for the evening session and £5 for the afternoon, with non-skaters paying £3.
A fancy dress competition will be held to reward the greatest 80s icon, while a face painter will be on hand throughout the day. Tickets are available at Specsavers.
