Okehampton 1

Truro C 1

OKEHAMPTON went into their second home game of the season top of the league and hoping to continue their winning start.

The game started brightly for the hosts as they kept possession of the ball for long periods but failed to create clear cut chances in the opening ten minutes.

The first chance came when sub Luke Miller's through ball was out just wide of the post and Miller was on hand to supply another chance. This time Mark Parsons shot came back off the post.

After half-time Okehampton continued to dominate with Dave Dennis, James Speak and John Jarvis stopping every attack.

A lack of chances in the second half kept the game in the balance, neither team really creating openings. The hosts had an attack with five minutes to go, the ball flying around in the area before James Rogers drove a shot that deflected off Simon Bourne's stick to give Okehampton the advantage.

Truro managed an equaliser with a minute to go.

Okehampton rallied and created one last chance but the ball just would not run for Jake Lloyd.

This week Okehampton travel to Plymouth University B.

Man of the match: John Jarvis.

OPMs 2

THE second team travelled to Mutley on Saturday.  Okehampton had plenty of chances during the first half with many shots on target but none being put to bed.

The first half was mainly spent in their half. Late in the first half OPM scored a goal to the frustration of Okehampton.

Okehampton were having to defend more during the first 15 minutes of the second half but pulled themselves back together and Toby Lloyd scored an outstanding goal from an acute angle from the top left corner.

Ten minutes later OPM scored on the break to bring the score to 2-1 to the home team.

In the last ten minutes OPM had a player sin-binned.  Okehampton took advantage of this and Johnny Cross hit the goalkeeper but scored on the rebound.
