Bodmin Trophies Duchy division 3

Roche 4

Mary Tavy 2

SATURDAY?S nightmare performance by a team who seemed as though they did not want to take part in a competitive event was the last straw if Tavy wanted to challenge for anything this season.

Roche, situated one from the bottom, must have thought Christmas had come early as they tore Tavy apart .

Dominic Reeve did score first for the away side direct from a corner but really it was down to a howler by the keeper who punched it into his own net.

With a gale blowing in their favour Roche netted three and added a fourth against the wind at the restart, with little or no resistance from the Tavy side.

The match was marred by the breaking of Paul Jeffery?s leg for Mary Tavy as he was caught by the keeper as he bravely poked the ball home to reduce the arrears.

With the howling winds players took shelter as the match was delayed for the arrival of first the air ambulance then the conventional road ambulance which eventually whisked him off to Treliske .

This virtually killed the game off as the teams just played out time and were happy when the referee blew time.

Everyone involved in both clubs wish Paul a speedy recovery and Mary Tavy thank him for his efforts and contribution this season and look forward to his return.

l Anyone with enthusiasm and will to win is wanted to help out at Mary Tavy Football Club. Any new ideas would be greatly appreciated as the club have hit an all time low. If you fit the bill please contact the club.
