The week ended with the Tavistock Open Competition held at the Green on Sunday. The competition involved 28 teams from Devon and Cornwall, competing for a trophy and more than £230 in prize money.
The winning team came from Saltash Bowling Club who were presented with the trophy and a first prize cheque for £100 by club chairman C B C Tremaine.
The competition was again organised by members Der Saunders and Derek Bradford, and raised more than £600 for club funds which will go towards meeting the cost of essential roof repairs later in the year.
During the course of the day, the ladies' catering secretary, Dorice Hicks, and helpers, provided more than 100 lunches and 80-plus afternoon teas, for players and spectators.
