THE road connecting the A386 to Cadover Bridge, Yelverton, is to be closed this Sunday (August 31) in Meavy Lane, between the shopping area and Elford Park.

The road will be closed to through traffic while tree felling is carried out on behalf of Western Power Distribution.

An alternative route for cars is from Yelverton to Dousland, and then to Gratton Cross via Meavy.

For HGVs a route suggested by Devon County Council is from Yelverton to Manadon via the A386, then take the A38 to Marsh Mills roundabout.

From there, follow to B3416 to Plympton and the B3417 to Lee Moor, and finally to Beatland Cross from where Cadover Bridge can be accessed.

Access to properties will be maintained as much as possible at either end of the affected road.

l The road from Portgate to Coryton Road, near Lifton, will be closed to through traffic for a period of approximately two months from September 15.

The closure is due to South West Water mains rehabilitation work.

An alternative route is from Portgate along the old A30 to Lewdown, then towards Chillaton via Lewtrenchard, and vice versa.
