THE County Road from Merrymeet Roundabout, the C50, will be closed to through traffic for approximately eleven days from next week. The road closure will be in place from Monday, April 3 to allow major fibre optic service diversion works to be carried out. Traffic will be diverted east back to the newly constructed Tedburn St Mary Junction back onto the A30 and vice-versa. l Factory Bridge in Chagford will be closed off to through traffic for approximately five days from next Monday (April 3). The closure is so that bollards can be erected by South West Highways bridge unit. An alternative route will be operating from Factory Cross along Mill Street, to the Square. From the square to the B3206 to Easton Cross and then along the A386 to Sands Gate Cross, to White Gates Cross, Wallon Cross and vice-versa. l Works to replace lead pipes will result in the closure of part of Back Lane by Tudor Cottage, Sticklepath next week. A road closure notice has been issued for three days, starting next Wednesday (April 5). An alternative route will be created taking drivers from the junction at the village hall onto the main road to the junction past Taw River Inn, into Willie Lane then to Back Lane and vice-versa.
