A NUMBER of upcoming road closures look set to cause delays in the West Devon area shortly.

Pound Cross at Buckland Monachorum will be closed between the Knighton junction and the cattle grid today and tomorrow while drainage and BT pole replacement works are carried out.

The C578 through Meavy near Yelverton will be closed between the Village Hall and the primary school for two days from Monday October 18 while new connection lines are installed.

Longer closures will take place on the C36 Meavy Lane and Gratton Lane at Yelverton which will be blocked off on Saturday October 23 for ten days at Moor View Terrace while repairs to the nearby bridge are carried out.

The section between the shopping area and Gratton Cross will be closed to all through traffic and the entire connecting route from the A386 to Beatland Corner will be shut to HGV through traffic.

Finally a whole section of the C510 between Bere Alston and Buckland Monachorum will be closed to through traffic for approximately two weeks as of Monday October 25 while drainage and resurfacing works are undertaken.

The road will be kept open as far as possible during commuter hours which are 7 until 9.30am and again between 4 and 6.30pm.

In all cases access to intervening properties will be maintained as far as possible.
