THE newly renovated bells at St Petroc?s Church, Lydford, were dedicated by the Archdeacon of Plymouth, Tony Wildes, in a special service last Sunday.

The bells, which have been in situ for about 200 years, were given a £14,000 makeover recently. During the dedication service, the Archdeacon prayed for the bells.

Captain of the tower, Bob Pengelly, said his Lydford Bell Ringers were completely happy with the new lease of life the bells had been given.

The dedication of the bells was also witnessed by the rector of Lydford, Brentor, Mary Tavy and Peter Tavy, the Rev Ian Sykes.
