THE handbells rang out on Wednesday evening at the Bedford Hotel. The booklaunch for Lilian Harry?s novel ?The Bells of Burracombe?, set in our corner of Devon, proved to be something rather special. It was lovely to hear the Tavistock Handbell Ringers playing to entertain everyone, including ringers from other local groups like Peter Tavy. It was also interesting to discover that we have a top ranking novelist living amongst us who has been bell ringing since she was 11 years old.
